The Collaborative Safety Research Center is a branch of Toyota focused on “ partnering with leading universities, hospitals, research institutions and federal agencies” to focus on “safety research projects aimed at developing and bringing to market new and advanced safety technologies.”

The Collaborative Safety Research Center is launching a slew of research tasks – 11 to be exact. These eleven projects will be completed with the help of eight partner institutions – universities and colleges aimed and helping Toyota’s Safety-oriented business branch find out more about autonomous driving and advanced safety technologies.

The Goal

The main aim of all projects is to figure out what, if any impact advanced technology has on road safety trends. The project also will focus on how human beings interact with their machine counterparts. CSRC Next – a new five-year program by Toyota’s Collaborative Safety Research Center, will launch these 11 projects.
